Keeping busy at home!
We’ve put together some isolation tips for adults to help you with keeping busy at home during this period!
1) Redecorate or upcycle old furniture
Spring cleans are most likely happening on a daily basis across many homes, so now you could dedicate some time to decorating that spare room you always wanted to or refresh a piece of furniture by upcycling. Pinterest is a great source for inspiration!
This is an ideal time to spend some time on your garden and bring those beautiful spring plants and colours into it. Plant your favourite plants or do some gentle weeding. Keeping busy outside in our gardens is a great distraction at the moment!
It might be a little harder to get your hands on the daily or weekly newspapers but you can definitely say up to date with all the TV news channels. But take some time away from the TV and news and enjoy some reading, puzzles, crosswords or quizzes. All great ways to keep your mind busy. If you are missing your daily newspaper fix however, many publications offer online subscriptions!
4) Home workouts
You may already enjoy leisurely walks or gym sessions. But if you need of some workouts you can enjoy anything from try home yoga, Pilates, to virtual walking programmes. If you are able to get outdoors take a long spring filled walk to clear the head and appreciate the simple things in life.
5) Home cooking or baking
Brush up on your cooking skills and experiment something a little different. Previously you may not have had the time to try out some adventurous recipes or even try out some sweet treats with home baking.
6) Learn a new skill
Try some knitting, a new musical instrument or even learn some dance routines. Either it be hip hop, Irish dancing or jiving. Trying something new and challenging yourself can be fun.
